Manama: With the participants of over 450 people from the broad spectrum of businesses in a two-day Forum to discuss the 2015-2017 Strategy, Tamkeen embarked on a new era of labour market reforms.
The introduction of transparency and efficiency in its economic development support initiative believe to stir economic and social development. Tamkeen has benefited 100,000 applicants since its inception – including 70,000 and 30,000 companies.
Tamkeen’s Chairman and Acting Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al-Khalifa released the updated figures during a consultative meeting to outline Tamkeen 2015-2017 Strategy.
The blueprint aims tat honing Bahrainis’ skills, optimizing their productivity, achieving sustainable competitiveness and growth and stimulating creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
He affirmed Tamkeen resolve to continue serving people and local firms, pointing out that the Labour Fund has succeeded in achieving financial balance.
“The three-year Tamkeen strategy will focus on optimizing its financial spending” he said, vowing to address any loopholes and scrutinize the real needs of all beneficiaries.
The consultative meeting focused on the future role of Tamkeen and highlighted the targeted results, stressing the new programmes that cater to the needs of the recipients.
Under the new three-year strategy, Tamkeen is planning to expand its role, with the opening of four new centres across Bahrain to speed up the processing of cyber applications.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al-Khalifa announced that the three-year strategy would be redrafted, taking into accounts remarks and proposals.
He pointed out that Tamkeen board of directors would endorse the final strategy before the end of the year 2014″.
