Manama: MENA Aerospace pioneered a unique concept with a dream flight for the children of Al Sanabel Orphanage and Dream Kids arranged by the 99s.
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport, the joy ride in a private jet was the high point of the event. “The children were really thrilled with the experience,” the Captain of the jet, said sponsored by Zain Bahrain. For some of the children it was the first time they had ever flown.
“We are delighted to have given these children a special treat,” Dr. Mohammed Juman Managing Director of MENA Aerospace, said.
“At MENA Aerospace we have an on-going CSR programme to give back to society in different ways. This event was part of our initiatives.”
Dream Kids is dedicated to helping make dreams a reality for children in Bahrain who suffer from debilitating illnesses. Al Sanabel Orphanage is the only society in Bahrain that takes care of the holistic needs of orphans in the Kingdom. The dream flight event was organised by the Arabian Section of the 99s a nonprofit international organization for female pilots that supports women in aviation by providing networking opportunities, scholarships and discounts. They are currently on an historic visit to the Kingdom and have 14 members based in Bahrain.
“This is not the first time that we have been involved in a community project.”
“As part of our CSR, we have a planned programme of giving as for instance, our involvement in the Mission Programme,” Omar Matar, CEO of MENA Aerospace, said.
The company sponsored an episode of the well-known Mission Programme, a reality show on Bahrain TV designed to encourage Bahraini youth to become entrepreneurs. The Mission is considered a pioneering initiative in Bahrain and MENA Aerospace was proud to be involved in such a groundbreaking new show. For one of the episodes, the company provided a free flight from Bahrain to Kuwait, which was part of a day-trip marketing challenge for the programme’s participants. MENA Aerospace received special recognition for its role in the programme from the Minister of State for Information.
