Manama: The Minister for Information Affairs, and the Government’s Official Spokesperson, Sameera Ibrahim bin Rajab, said that objectivity in journalism remains a key and media personnel needs to equip themselves professionally before embarking on their duties.
The Minister Information was speaking as she hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the journalists and reporters accredited to her office, marking the first anniversary of starting work there.
She thanked them for their efforts in covering the weekly press briefing and enlightening the local and international public opinion.
The Minister said that her Ministry would organise regular meetings in addition to weekly press briefing after the cabinet meeting.
“Ministry of State for Information Affairs is carrying out its national duty through media projects and programmes, and official media entities, to raise awareness of the importance of the electoral process in enhancing political reform and support democracy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Highlighting the role she said Ministry would continue to facilitate accessibility to information and news through various official media channels.
