MANAMA: The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa said that the Kingdom of Bahrain believed in transparency and safeguarding the constitutional rights of its people.
The Minister was responding to a question whether the presence of the international observers was important for elections 2014. “We have legal framework to ensure the transparency of highest standards and we don’t need any rubber stamp to ratify our election results,” the Minister said, adding that like any other democracy Bahrainis have used their right of franchise to elect a new parliament for another four years.
The Minister said that local organisations and NGOs have played a key role in monitoring the election process in Bahrain.
