Manama: The President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and the elections Executive Director Advisor Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainin on Thursday said that he was expecting a record turnout during the elections on 22nd November.
Al Buainin was speaking to reporters after the formal opening ceremony of the media centre assured that all steps have been taken to hold fair, free and impartial elections.
“We have seen overwhelming response from the people from the very start of the electioneering process and this will translate into a record turnout this year, Inshallah,” he added.
In an earlier statement he said that the massive participation of Bahrainis abroad augurs well for the parliamentary and municipal elections in Bahrain.
Referring to overseas ballots he said that the flux of citizens in 29 embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions had exceeded all expectations.
He paid tribute to voters for assuming their patriotic responsibilities and participating actively as they cast their ballots for Bahrain, voicing his confidence in the success of the parliamentary and legislative polls in Bahrain.
