MANAMA: As the polling for the parliamentary and municipal elections getting to close in less than an hour, the official spokesperson of Integrity Coalition for Election Observation (Integrity) refuted the claims of one of the newspapers that there was only “One” voter cast ballot in Saar area in first two hours of the polling.
“This is something totally baseless as I have visited the Saar Area polling booths myself and there were hundreds of voters cast their ballots in the first two hours against the claims of the newspaper that there was only one ballot reported,” Dr. Ahmed Alkhuzaie, the official spokesperson Integrity told The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).
According to the Integrity spokesperson the voting went smooth at all polling stations across the Kingdom of Bahrain on Saturday, thanks to citizens believe in democracy as well as the excellent arrangements by the authorities.
Earlier, Integrity told the candidates that the worship places shouldn’t be used as campaign or canvassing tools during the parliamentary and municipal elections in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The official spokesperson of Integrity Coalition for Election Observation (Integrity) said that despite the request many candidates used worship places as electioneering tool.
“We have noticed that till yesterday some candidate used mosques and worship places as platforms for canvassing for general polls,” he added.
