Manama: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the “provocative statements” made by the spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today against the Kingdom of Bahrain and categorically rejected any form of interference in its internal affairs or making any false accusations that are baseless and lack credibility against the Kingdom.
In a statement the Foreign Ministry stressed that the Kingdom “has always provided full freedom to all sects of Muslims and non-Muslims to practice their religion with all the goodwill and without any intervention” and that “the Kingdom has enacted laws and regulations that protect them.”
“Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom remains the most prominent model in the area of freedom of opinion and expression, religious tolerance and communal coexistence among all components of society under a modern constitution and laws that ensure freedom and equality and guarantee security for all,” the statement said.
The Ministry said such ridiculous statements by Iran were part of its attempts to escape from its internal problems and divert attention from the crisis caused by its domestic and foreign policies.
The Ministry called on Iran to “respect the principles of good neighborliness and the sovereignty of nations, and to refrain from issuing such irresponsible statements that do not contribute to developing and improving relations between the two Muslim neighbours.”
