MANAMA: Unregistered citizens wishing to feature on the electoral lists have been urged to report to the supervisory centre in their respective governorate to stamp their passports. Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission President, High Elections Committee Executive Director Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Bouainain said that the procedure would enable concerned citizens to vote in the parliamentary and municipal polls in the future.
The four supervisory centres are located at Al-Hedaya Al-Khalifiya Boys’ Secondary (Muharraq), Khawla Girls’ Secondary School (Capital Governorate), Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Boys’ Primary Intermediate School (Northern Governorate) and West Riffa Girls’ Secondary School (Southern Governorate).
Al-Bouainain said that the four supervisory centres would be open from Tuesday to Thursday (Nov 25-27), from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM.
“Stamping passports does not mean that newly-registered voters would be eligible to cast their ballots in the by-elections on November29”, he said, pointing out that they would be eligible to vote in future polls.
