Manama: The owners and management of Enmaa Mall Riffa confirmed that the mall would remain shut for one week following the incident of roof collapse on Saturday evening at around 5pm.
The Director of Al-Enmaa House for Real Estate (B.S.C.) Company, Saleem Elias, said that emanating from the company’s keenness on public safety, repair works will take at least one week after which the mall will be reopened in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure its safety and public safety.
He expressed utmost gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
His Royal Highness had issued directives to the Minister of Works to conduct an independent investigation into the causes of the partial collapse of the shopping mall’s ceiling.
Elias extended gratitude to Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and all Civil Defence personnel for their immediate response follow up at the site to verify the safety of all those present at mall at the time of the accident.
Elias also expressed gratitude and appreciation to Municipalities Minister Dr. Juma’a bin Ahmed Al Ka’abi; Works Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf and Governor of the Southern Governorate Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
HRH Crown Prince also directed Southern Governorate to follow up the development of the incident.
Following the incident nearly one thousand shoppers were evacuated from Enmaa Mall after part of its ceiling collapsed.
