MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa issued directives to establish a health center fully equipped with latest facilities for the members of the public security.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the regular Cabinet session and praised the directives of HM the King during the inauguration of new royal academic police establishments, reflecting the continuous support of HM towards the Public Security system, and his appreciation of its national role, as well as its excellence in containing violent and terrorist acts.
The Cabinet stressed that HM’s directives to His Excellency the Minister of Interior to promote the injured and establish a health centre fully equipped with the latest medical technologies to treat members of the public security reflects HM’s kindness, as well as the appreciation of the government, citizens and residents of Bahrain.
The Cabinet expressed its pride in the success of the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education. The Cabinet welcomed the UNESCO’s renewal of this Prize for six more years. The above reflected this international organization appreciation of HM’s efforts to promote the development of education as well as HM’s continuous support of the UNESCO projects.
As an expression of the governments keenness to prepare public beaches for citizens and residents, HRH the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister to activate the directives of HM the King concerning the development of public beaches, provision of more places and services of leisure, as well as taking the necessary steps for the establishment of a public corniche in accordance to the latest urban plans.
The Cabinet praised what has so far been reached concerning the circumstances surrounding the partial collapse of a ceiling in a shopping mall in Riffa, in an implementation of the directives of HRH the Crown Prince. The Cabinet stressed the importance of punishing whoever is found to be liable for the accident in view of the independent technical report, which will be prepared by the Ministry of Works, and the Southern Governorate report. The latter will be prepared in coordination with other private and public authorities.
On matters related to promoting friendly economic and trade relations with other countries, the Cabinet commended the success of the visit of the Bahraini economic delegation to China organized by the Economic Development Board (EDB), which reflected the good Sino-Bahraini relations following the visit of HM the King to China. The Cabinet praised the outcome of this visit, and stressed the importance of having similar visits to, and creating better communication with, emerging markets to attract more forms of investment in partnership with the private sector.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of State for Defence Affairs, the Vice-President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, on the draft law to ratify the two conventions of “Istisna’a” and “Wakala” between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The conventions are concerned with the preservation of the pearl heritage and the revival of urban trade in the city of Muharraq. The Cabinet approved the memorandum, and referred the matter to the concerned ministerial committee.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Shura Council and Parliament Affairs, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (QAAET). The memorandum was concerned with the approval of a new set of review reports on the performance of public and private schools and vocational training institutions as well as program reviews in higher education institutions.
The Cabinet instructed the Ministerial Committee for the Development of Education to prepare a special report on the steps needed for students to achieve the best performance in basic scientific subjects in both public and private schools.
