MANAMA: Jewellery Arabia 2014, the premier international jewellery and watch exhibition in Bahrain and the Middle East held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre from 18 to 22 November 2014 has attracted over 50,000 visitors.
The event held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, concluded with great success by recording a footfall of 50,054 visitors of various nationalities from inside and outside of Bahrain during the five-day show compared to 2013 exhibition’s total number of visitors of 48,470 with large attendance from international visitors.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority Dr. Hassan Abdullah Fakhro, praised and thanked His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain for his continued patronage for this iconic specialized event since its inception in 1992 and the Government and leadership for their strong support to the exhibitions industry in strengthening its contribution to the overall economy and in further bolstering Bahrain’s position as a key business and tourist hub regionally and internationally.
The 23rd series of this annual exhibition which spanned across 18,000 square meters of event space at the Exhibition Centre attracted a record participation of 600 multi-national jewellery brand and franchise companies known for their artistry and innovative designs finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques and art masterpieces from 30 countries worth more than half a billion dollars.
The 30 participating countries in this year’s exhibition included Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States of America with national pavilions from Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and United Kingdom.
After this year’s highly talked-about successful series, Jewellery Arabia shall definitely remain to be biggest name in the jewellery and watch events in Bahrain and the Middle East in the years to come.
