Manama: The second day sessions of GCC Power conference and exhibition 2014 kicked off with discussions on smart grids and renewable energy, power quality enhancement approach using high efficiency and HPF step-down AC-DC converter, the role of establishing reliable communication system in transition to smarter power distribution system, and managing reliability of renewable energy assets.
Attendees of GCC Power conference exchanged plenty of ideas concerning asset management for power systems, focusing on strategic thinking towards best selection and implementation of enterprise asset management.
Many experts addressed the need for smart applications of underground and submarine cable systems, and adopting different techniques to enhance large-scale power systems.
Participants also discussed some regional success stories such as the development of transmission system master plan of Oman (2014-2030), and the performance of power transformers and reactors in UAE, Italy, Ireland, and Germany.
