Manama: The Chairman of the UK Conservative Party’s Middle East Council, Member of the House of Lords and Chairman of the Centre for Islamic Finance at the University of Bolton in the United Kingdom Baroness Morris of Bolton, Baroness Morris voiced the UK’s interest in Bahrain’s experience in Islamic financing, praising the Kingdom’s capabilities and financial expertise, which, she said, has made it a prominent financial centre in the region.
This came as Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa received Baroness Morris at Gudaibiya Palace on Monday in the presence of Bahrain Central Bank Governor Rashid Al-Miraj.
Baroness who is currently visiting Bahrain during a meeting with Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak reviewed the long-standing and historic Bahraini-British relations, growing steadily in all fields, affirming the commitment of the friendly countries to further advancing those ties.
They explored joint cooperation in the field of Islamic financing and education, in order to benefit from the University of Bolton’s expertise in various disciplines.
She expressed sincere thanks to the Deputy Premier for his interest in boosting bilateral cooperation.
