MANAMA: The Minister of Housing on Sunday during the weekly Cabinet meeting emphasized the important role played by the political leadership to achieve urban and housing developments which are considered one of the government’s important priorities and part of the Kingdom’s sustainable development. The Minister of Housing presented an initial review of all housing unit projects in the Kingdom.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the regular Cabinet session of Sunday in which the Cabinet praised the visit of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Amir of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the visit, HH the Amir held bilateral talks with HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa mirroring the strong ties between the two countries, emphasizing their keenness to promote GCC joint action, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments.
The Cabinet condemned the terrorist attack that took place in Al Ahsa in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and praised the role of the security forces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its residents in facing this terrorist act that targeted the area. The Cabinet extended its condolences to the families of the martyrs of the terrorist act.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of the International Meeting for Combating the Financing of Terrorism that started on Sunday in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Meeting has a large international audience which confirms the capabilities of the Kingdom of Bahrain to host these kinds of meetings and the role of Bahrain in combating terrorism which is becoming an international security and stability threat.
The Cabinet praised the visit of His Excellency the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the important outcomes of his visit stressing the Kingdoms interest in supporting the Bahraini-Chinese relations.
The Cabinet extended its thanks to the security forces of the Kingdom and its significant role in organizing Ashoora.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, the President of the Ministerial Committee for Social Services Affairs on the issuance and distribution of an Arabic version of a Spanish sports magazine under the name of “MACRA Al-Arabiya”. The magazine specializes in the publication of Spanish sports news and the most important international sporting events.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the Memoranda of understanding which will be signed with the Kingdom of Malaysia in the economic, industrial, technical, agricultural and environmental fields. The Cabinet decided to refer the memorandum to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further review.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Commerce on the 23rd edition of Jewellery Arabia, set to take place on the 18th- 22nd of November.
Jewellery Arabia, in which 600 exhibitors representing 30 countries are expected to take part, will contribute in promoting exhibitions and conferences industry, and in the diversification of the national economy.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Education on the establishment of a cultural Attaché in the People’s Republic of China.
The establishment of this cultural attaché comes in response to the increase in the number of Bahraini students studying at Chinese universities, as well as to enhance bilateral relations in the field of education between the two countries.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Transportation on the air transport agreement with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The draft agreement covers the latest developments in global air transport industry, especially those related to the safety and security of civil aviation and the security of travel documents. The Cabinet decided to refer the memorandum to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further review.
