Manama: Al Wefaq National Islamic Society on Friday claimed that it had held a successful General Assembly (GA) on Friday evening, with an unprecedented percentage of member participation.
It announced that 2388 out of a total of 3046 members who have completed membership requirements, making a turn-out of 78.4%.
“Hundreds of others turned up to apply for new memberships during the General Assembly,” it claimed in a statement published on Al Wefaq website following the meeting.
President of the High Commission for the General Assembly Ali Aljabal announced that the Assembly reached quorum. “The members elected 30 candidates for Shura Al Wefaq, the consultative and legislative council in the society, and 5 candidates for the Arbitration Panel,” he added.
