MANAMA: The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by HE the Deputy Prime Minister, and the President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, on amending Article (320) of the Penal Code.
“The amendment aims to tighten penalties on whoever subjects a child under the age of seven or a person who is unable to defend himself to danger.
The Cabinet approved the draft law and decided to fulfill the remaining legal procedures in this matter,” Sameera bin Rajab State Minister for Information Affairs and the Government’s Official Spokesperson told the post Cabinet briefing on Sunday.
“The Cabinet discussed and approved the two memorandums presented by HE the Deputy Prime Minister, and the President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, on the draft decision related to the Legal Regulation of Honorary Consuls that are Accredited by the Kingdom of Bahrain Abroad.
“The draft decision aims to develop rules and regulations that regulate the work of honorary consuls of the Kingdom of Bahrain, according to Law No. (37) for the year 2009 on the diplomatic and consular corps.
“The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by HE the Minister of State for Follow-up Affairs on Following up on the Government Program for the years 2011 – 2014.
“The memorandum includes registering 968 projects for 38 ministries and government entities.
“The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by HE the Minister of State for Follow-up Affairs on the Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals and their Requirements after 2015 on quality education; better health care; better jobs opportunities; a responsive government to the aspirations of the citizens and protection from violence and crime.
“The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by HE the Minister of Shura Council and Parliament Affairs on The Third Legislative Report for the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
“The report includes detailed statistics for the work of the two councils in the third legislative term on the draft laws, proposals, committees and general topics discussed.”
