Manama: His Royal Highness, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, honored the eGovernment Authority (eGA) CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed at the 14th edition of Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award 2014 for the national portal (Bahrain.bh) winning the first place among 9,500 Arabian government and private portals.
The ceremony was held yesterday on December 17, 2014 at Bayan Palace in the State of Kuwait.
National eGovernment Portal – Bahrain.bh has topped the mostly commonly used websites in the Arab world .The Award’s judging committee is composed of several senior officers from the smart, research and academic egovernment organizations , and Information and Technology NGOs in the Arab world.
CEO of eGovernment Authority expressed his pride and dedicated this success to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Deputy Supreme Commander First Deputy Prime Minister, pointing out that this festive is synchronized with the country’s National Day celebrations.
AlQaed delivered a speech on behalf of the winners, where he congratulated His Highness the Emir of Kuwait on the occasion of receiving the title of Humanitarian Commander by the United Nations, and stated: “On this special day , we are proud to receive this prestigious award, which is one of the oldest awards across the region in the informatics sector, and what makes us most proud is that it’s being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait.
