MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, said the Kingdom was on the eve of a new and fourth legislative term requiring the government and the legislative branch to work together to achieve a decent life, security and safety for the people.
HM Majesty King chaired at Al Sakhir Palace the 1st meeting of the new cabinet following the oath-taking ceremony, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
HM King Hamad welcomed all members of the cabinet, and wished them every success in serving the kingdom and the citizens.
HM the King expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the outgoing cabinet for its dedication in assuming its national responsibilities.
HM King Hamad requested the new ministers to intensify field work in order to be informed closely about the reality of the situation, praying Allah Almighty to guide them on the right path of success for the interests of Bahrain and its dear citizens.
HRH Premier also addressed the session, expressing pride in HM the King’s trust bestowed on him and members of the cabinet.
He affirmed commitment to shouldering the national responsibilities, vowing to spare no effort to implement the royal directives.
He stressed strong resolve to continue serving HM the King and the homeland, and defend the interests of the people and public money.
The Secretary-General of Cabinet Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser said HM King Hamad had directed the newly-sworn in cabinet to do its utmost to achieve his aspirations for a decent life for the citizens, and consolidation of the security and stability enjoyed by Bahrain despite the instability prevailing in the region.
HM King Hamad urged ministers to intensify field work and meet the citizens directly in order to reach out to their needs and be well-informed about their conditions, Dr. Al-Nasser added
He also said that HM the King had underlined the need to achieve “constructive and fruitful” cooperation with the legislative branch in order to build on the previous achievements.
He added that HM the King had thanked members of the outgoing cabinet, commended their efforts and valued highly their achievements.
“HRH the Premier took pride in His Majesty’s precious trust, and pledged that the cabinet would work as a team and muster all energies to be up to His Majesty’s confidence and translate his directives and visions on the ground,” Dr. Al-Nasser said.
HRH Premier also said that the government would devote all its efforts to bring about more achievements and attain more development and progress for the kingdom and its people, he added.
“HRH the Prime Minister also affirmed that the cabinet would raise to the political and economic challenges, begin preparing its work plan for the coming period immediately, and extend bridges of cooperation and trust with the legislative branch in order to increase landmark national achievements,” Dr. Al-Nasser also said.
