MANAMA/ISLAMABAD: With political temperature is cooling down in Islamabad, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain is likely to take place on 7th and 8th January.
Though there has been no official confirmation yet on the dates but the sources in Federal Capital Islamabad said that things were getting in the right direction and the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to visit Bahrain early next month.
It is worth mentioning that there has been political uncertainty in Pakistan till mid-December when a terrorist attack martyred around 145 students and many staff members in Peshawar on December 16th.
The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Imran Khan, who emerged hugely popular political figure in Pakistan, had called off country-wide strike following the terrorist attack on Peshawar Army Public School as part of solidarity with the people of Pakistan.
The Tehreek-i-Insaaf’s move provided an immediate relief and new life to the current Government and the PM will now embark on many postponed visits abroad including Bahrain.
The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to meet His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Deputy Supreme Commander at BDF and the 1st Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and review with them the bilateral ties.
The historic visit of His Majesty King Hamad to Islamabad in forty years in March this year has given a new impetus to further cementing the ties between the two sides in all vital areas of common interest.
The Kingdom of Bahrain and Pakistan had signed 12 memoranda of understandings (MoUs) during His Majesty King’s visit many of them had already been ratified by both sides.
