MANAMA: As the Prime Minister His Royal Highness the Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa submitted the Government Action Plan 2015-2018 (GAP) to the Council of Representatives for review by the Parliament; the Kingdom of Bahrain embarks on a new era of progress and development.
The GAP focuses on delivering sustainable change in line with King Hamad’s reform programme through stable and meaningful democratic development, and reflects the Government of Bahrain’s strategic priorities over the next four years.
The result of extensive coordination amongst government entities, the GAP had been presented to the Executive Committee headed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince before being submitted to the Cabinet and presented to the Council of Representatives.
Earlier, following the submission of the GAP to Parliament, government ministers hosted a press conference at Gudaibiya Palace during which they outlined the details of the plan and its fundamental principles of sustainability, fairness and competitiveness, in line with the key priorities of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
They further highlighted that the GAP seeks to capitalise on the Kingdom’s resources and capabilities to meet the needs of all Bahrainis, adding that the GAP comprises strategic goals based on the economic plan devised by the Economic Development Board, the findings of the National Audit Court report and other key international indicators and statistics as well as development considerations outlined during the run-up to the 2014 elections by parliamentary candidates.
