RIFFA: Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), voiced the importance of supporting the financial and banking sector to assure women’s presence and contribution to the development of national economy.
HRH also encouraged youth, applauding CBB’s growing role in supporting SCW, by encouraging financial and banking enterprises in terms of equal opportunities.
HRH announced that Bahraini Women’s Day 2015 will be held under the theme “Women in the financial and banking sector “to highlight women’s presence in this pivotal sector for about 50 years.
This came as HRH Princess Sabeeka received on Monday with the Governor of Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, in the presence of a number of the financial and banking sectors’ representatives and women leaders in order to consult and coordinate with experts on how to highlight this remarkable national occasion so as to outline working women’s accomplishments in this sector.
Al Maraj hailed HRH Princess Sabeeka’s allocation of Bahraini Women’s Day to celebrate women in financial and banking sector, considering it as motive to the working women in this sector, pointing out that CBB has started the preparations for this outstanding occasion through activities aimed at documenting women’s pioneering march in this field, in cooperation with related authorities .
Managing Director and CEO of Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat said that celebrating women in the financial and banking sector will promote working women’s status in the financial and banking establishments, overcome obstacles facing women’s career progress in this sectors and will reflect Bahrain’s bright image in this field, affirming that KFH will always boost Bahraini women’s role in the financial and banking sector.
“We realise that the promotion of women’s representation in the company is one of our competitive advantages, so we are always keen to attract, retain and develop talented women in the sector,” Younis Jamal, CEO of Takaful International which was awarded the 3rd edition of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women’s Empowerment in the private sector, said.
Chief Executive Officer of Securities and Investment Company (SICO) Najla Al Shirawi said that Bahraini Women’s Day 2015 will promote Bahraini women’s image on all levels, pointing out that Bahraini women’s excellence in the financial sector proves her ability on getting involved in various work fields, especially leading positions, affirming SCW’s importance in strengthening the concept of equal opportunities throughout government and private authorities.
