MANAMA: Bahrain’s Shura Council paid homage to late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who passed away early Friday morning.
“The Arab and Islamic nations have lost with the death of the Saudi monarch a sincere man who achieved a lot for his country and placed Saudi Arabia among developed nations”, it said, hailing his wisdom and statesmanship.
The Upper House paid tribute to late King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz for his pivotal role and distinguished marks in bolstering the march of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as well as his dedicated contribution to fostering unity and solidarity among the Arab states and peoples and championing their just causes, particularly the Palestinian issue.
The statement recalled the Saudi leader’s stances in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain and steadfast drive to bolster historic relations bonding the two countries and brotherly peoples.
“The late monarch played a crucial role, with his statesmanship and wisdom, in enhancing the standing of his country among advanced states and promoting its status which earned wide international recognition and respect”, the statement said.
The Shura Council paid tribute to late monarch who exerted strenuous efforts to enhance his people’s development, progress and well-being, hailing his crucial role in advocating the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations.
In the statement, the Shura Council extended condolences to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
The statement also extended condolences to the people of Bahrain as well as the Arab and Islamic nations on the sad demise of the Saudi monarch, praying Allah Almighty to pray his soul in eternal peace and guide the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on the right path.
