AWALI: Bapco achieved the re-certification to the internationally recognised environmental management standard ISO14001:2004. The ISO 14001 certificate was presented to Ebrahim Talib, DCE Refining and Marketing and Chairman of the Environment, Health and Safety Committee (EHSC) by the Bureau Veritas Country CEO (Bahrain), Zulfiqar Haider.
The ISO 14001 re-certification audit was successfully carried out during November 2014 without any non-conformances.
Ebrahim Talib highlighted that Bapco continues to strive for excellence in all aspects of its operations and the sound management of EHS is an integral part of its business and operating philosophy for protecting employees, contractors and adjacent areas.
He thanked all the staff for their continued efforts and support towards the EMS ISO 14001 programme. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management System designed to achieve compliance and continual improvement in environmental performance.
Bapco was first certified in 2009, then in 2012 and now it has been re-certified for another three years. The event was attended by Bapco’s General Manager Refining, Hafedh Al-Qassab and Bapco’s Manager Health, Safety & Environment, Ahmed Khalil.
