MANANA: BBK continues to invest in developing its management and staff in line with bank’s commitment to the nurturing of the banking expertise in young Bahrainis, according to the bank. The bank has launched its 7th trainee development programme in co-operation with the BIBF.
The programme, which gives an in-depth training in all areas of banking over a period of several months, consists of two phases a comprehensive training programme at BIBF and on job training at the bank.
BBK Chairman Murad Ali Murad, together with the Chief Executive of the Bank A.Karim Bucheery visited the trainees at the BIBF, encouraging them in their endeavors and congratulating them for being amongst the chosen candidates in this highly praised programme.
This year, 18 fresh Bahraini graduates have been selected though a rigorous assessment process, out of a total 400 applicants. The recruited candidates have graduated from highly reputed local and international universities with high GPAs and have exhibited leadership skills and capabilities, which is one of the key components for success in the programme.
“I’m very delighted to see young Bahraini talents on the right path of a banking career; they are very talented and we at BBK are committed to provide them with all the expertise needed for them to excel in this field. It is part of our mission to arm them with the highest degrees of competence, integrity and professionalism,” Murad Ali Murad, said.
“The board of the bank as well as the Executive Management feel proud that BBK and since its inception has been an important source of highly qualified talent in the financial sector, not only in the Kingdom of Bahrain but also in the region, who have been taking key positions within and outside the Bank,” the Chairman added.
The training programme at BIBF lasted four months, and focused on providing participants with training in the areas of business ethics, financial analysis, international markets, business planning, international financing, project management and a number of other topics that improve skills and capabilities in the field of banking and finance.
The second part of the program will commence soon, at BBK, where they will undergo on job rotation in relevant functions related to their assigned department and according to the business needs.
“BBK partnered with BIBF for the Management Trainee Development Programme, and for many other training needs as the institute plays a key role in the Kingdom in the development of human capital. Like BBK, it is committed to excellence, delivering thought leadership, and expertise and we are proud to see that caliber of institutes in Bahrain and to be able to offer our employees and Bahrainis in general highly qualified training in our own homeland,” Bucheery, said.
The Management Trainee Development Programme has been re-launched for the seventh time since inception in 2004 and with the 18 new candidates recently selected; it brings the total number of graduates to nearly 120. BBK, and through this programme contributes to the talent pool of the Kingdom in the area of banking and financial services, and continues to be the Employer of Choice, providing young Bahraini the tools and expertise for a Brighter life enabling them to contribute to the economy and the prosperity of the nation.
