Muharraq: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, will get a 10-year fleet and destination expansion plan by the end of next month, according to the CEO.
“The Consultant Committee which is currently assessing the airline’s 10-year fleet expansion as well as destination requirements will submit its report by the end of February,” Gulf Air acting Chief Executive Officer, Maher Salman Al Musallam revealed while responding to media questions on the sidelines of the visit to the last of the four A-330 retrofitted planes.
He said the year 2014 yielded positive results and according to the projections but how good it was he didn’t share perhaps the final figures must have been worked out for the whole year.
Gulf Air, he said, emerged as one of the most efficient carriers by utilizing 28 planes fleet to serve 45 destinations worldwide.
“Gulf Air by all means is an efficient airline which supported by the excellent figures in terms of operational and commercial efficiencies,” he added.
He applauded the A-330 fleet upgrade and said that it was a major achievement in 2014.
“This is an important milestone for Gulf Air as we continue to shape our new strategic direction, which sees us strive to transform and revitalize all facets of the national carrier’s operations while offering the best in class product,” Al Musallam, said.
