Gudaiybia Palace, Manama: The upcoming visit of the Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday will open a new era of co-operation in all vital areas of common interest, the Minister Information and the Government’s Official Spokesperson on Monday said.
“A tall agenda has been set as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa will hold bilateral talks with his Pakistani counterpart Prime Minister Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday,” Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi Minister of Information Affairs on the sidelines of the post weekly Cabinet briefing told The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).
Minister Isa Abdulrahman, who is also Official Government Spokesperson, said that the visit of the Pakistan Premier reflects the importance of the deep-rooted between the two countries.
The upcoming visit of the Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif will provide one-to-one talks with Prime Minister of Bahrain HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. There will be many meetings at the Ministerial levels in addition to a very brief community discourse, if the tight schedule of the PM Nawaz Sharif allows.
The visit is a culmination of the historic visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Islamabad in March, the first top level leadership visit in the past 40 years.
During HM King’s visit total 12 memoranda of understands (MoU) were signed providing the private sectors in the both countries a much easier and workable business climate including the two way flow of investments.
Many of those MoUs have already been implemented following the ratification of those agreements by the Bahraini Parliament on fast track basis in the past months.
“There will be number of MoUs and agreement during the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif visit which will further strengthen ties between the two sides,” the Minister said.
“We believe that Pakistan is on the verge of a new wave of development, a development which Bahrain, as a close friend and trading partner, can assist with by cooperating with our Pakistani friends especially in food security to stimulate joint trade and investment,” a senior official said.
“It is not Governments that undertake trade; it is the people and businesses that make up our respective economies. It is our job as Governments, to facilitate commercial exchange by ensuring that there are no legal, regulatory or physical impediments and through our political channels, create a dialogue which is conducive to bringing our respective private sectors together,” he added.
Following the successful visit of HM king, the 1st Pakistan-Bahrain Investment Forum was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Bahrain.
The Industry and Commerce Minister applauded the historic visit of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan which according to him provided a rare opportunity of building on the most positive dialogue and results of His Majesty’s visit.
He added that His Majesty’s foresight and proactive approach to international relations and building political, economic and social ties will turn a new Chapter in the relations between our two brotherly countries, and this Forum will allow us, if you will, to strike whilst the iron is hot.
