Gudaibiya Palace: His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa underlined harmony and co-existence characterising the Bahraini society, stressing that Bahrainis “reject voices and practices stoking ideologies of division and dispersion.”
He was speaking as he received today Al-Asfoor family, led by Shaikh Abdul Hussain Al-Asfoor, who thanked him for his noble sentiments in extending condolences on the demise of Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalaf Al-Asfoor.
HRH the Premier emphasised that all components of the Bahraini society will remain united and homogeneous, pointing out the importance of communication in maintaining cohesion. He lauded the tightly-knit social texture, paying tribute to the famous Bahraini families for their key role in maintaining national unity. He praised, in this regard, the role of Al-Asfoor family, recalling with respect late Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalaf Al-Asfoor and his contributions in serving national and religious issues.
HRH the Prime Minister stressed that religious scholars have a great responsibility in confronting attempts to tarnish the image of Islam and Muslims. “Defending Islam is a duty and we are proud of the efforts of religious clerics in Bahrain in revealing Islam’s tolerance and rejection of violence, terrorism and subversion of nations.
Jafari Endowments Board Chairman Shaikh Abdul Mohsin Al-Asfoor presented HRH the Premier with a copy of a book on Jafari code of family. Mohammed Al-Asfoor presented a copy of “Durra” magazine to HRH the Premier.
Al-Asfoor family paid tribute to HRH the Premier for his keenness to keep in touch with the Bahraini people in all circumstances, which reflects strong relation between the leadership and people, commending HRH the Prime Minister’s role in Bahrain’s development.
