MANAMA: The Interior Ministry’s development strategy aims at ensuring the security of the nation and the citizens and is being implemented according to well-devised plans, modern training sessions and effective community partnership, according to a senior official.
Police Media Director Col Mohammed bin Daina was speaking during an interview and said the security system of the Interior Ministry was put forward according to Interior Minister Lt. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa’s strategy.
He stressed that community partnership has been crucial in reducing criminality rates.
Speaking to “Al Amn Radio Show”, he pointed out that the Police Media’s interaction with all social segments and sects reflects the development and modernisation strategy adopted by the Interior Minister.
He said that the Police Media had undergone many changes using qualified and experienced competencies and modern technology, and succeeded in disseminating a transparent and credible media message.
He highlighted the achievements of the ministry as a result of the implementation of its development strategy.
He said that the strategy was reviewed regularly to highlight positive sides and develop the negative ones, noting that the development process included training personnel to use modern technology to enable them to deal with the latest security changes and deal effectively with the new crimes.
He stressed that the security bodies had succeeded in unveiling many sophisticated cases in a record short time, which reassured the citizens and residents.
He added that protection of human rights has been basic in security action, and is part of policemen’s culture.
He said that promoting the human rights principles among the Interior Ministry’s affiliates is essential in the Interior Ministry’s approach.
The said that about 6,000 members had benefited from the training sessions held by the Royal Academy of Police, while others took parts in sessions abroad, held in cooperation with prestigious international organisations, known for their expertise and reputation in the field of human rights.
He pointed out that 2014 was dedicated to women’s military march, being the theme of the Bahraini Women’s Day, noting that Bahraini women policewomen have become effective partners in the policing march thanks to their dedication in assuming their duties.
