Al Safriya Palace: Bahrain has always been –and still is- a meeting point for civilisations and a land on which people from all religions and sects live in tolerance and love, away from extremism and fanaticism, noting that such features stem from the kingdom’s rich history and culture, and its people’s respect for all religions.
This was stated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as he received at Al Safriya Palace the International Peace Institute (IPI)’s Director Terje Roed-Larsen.
HM the King welcomed Terje Roed-Larsen, and lauded the existing cooperation between Bahrain and IPI in serving issues of security, stability and peace in the region, affirming the kingdom’s support to all efforts aiming to consolidate regional and global security and peace.
HM King Hamad affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on carrying its democratic and development march for the benefit of its people.
HM the King praised the role played by IPI regarding research, studies and positive contributions to efforts to promote global peace.
IPI Director briefed HM the King on IPI’s future programmes and plans, as well as areas of cooperation with the relevant centres and institutes in the kingdom.
HM the King also reviewed with Terje Roed-Larsen the latest regional and global developments.
