Al Sakhir, BIC: Countdown to Gulf Air Bahrain F1 Grand Prix 2015 started with 58 days to go when dazzling race will bring non-stop fun, entertainment and sports to Bahrain.
Shaikh Salman revealed this year’s promotional campaign for the Grand Prix weekend as “Light Up Your Nights.”
“All eyes will be on BIC in 58 days’ time and we are looking forward to delivering a memorable Bahrain Grand Prix experience for everybody,” Shaikh Salman said.
“We were blessed with a historic event last year, celebrating our 10th anniversary and holding our very first night race.
“The new lighting system created a brilliant and unique setting. The race was spectacular at all levels, it was even being called the Grand Prix of the century, and we welcomed a record crowd of 31,000 fans on Race Day and 85,000 in all.
“It will be hard to emulate our success from last year, but we are well-prepared as always and I believe we have put together a fantastic package of both racing and entertainment.”
“It is a great way to give back to our fans with events being held within the community.”
Plenty of racing on track, families to enjoy loads of fun at F1™ Village vending area
Meanwhile, at the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, plenty more is in store both on the race track and in the Formula 1™ Village vending area.
In support of the Formula 1™ action, there will be two supporting championships that will keep the on-track programme busy throughout the three days. The GP2 Series and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East will both be providing their own brand of excitement to the throngs of race fans who will be in attendance at BIC.
GP2 is widely accepted to be the chief feeder series to the top flight and it will feature some of motorsport’s rising stars. GP2 will be holding the first round of its 2015 season at BIC.
The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge is the Middle East’s most professionally run championship. It is based at BIC, and it features some of the best local and regional talent. The GT3 Cup will be staging its final two races of the 2014/2015 season during the Grand Prix weekend, thus battles are set to intensify with the Challenge’s various season titles at stake.
Off the race track, a wide array of family friendly entertainment will be taking place all over the circuit.
One of the main attractions at the Formula 1™ Village will be the Snow Village. This will feature a fun experience in snowy conditions. The tent includes a 10m x 10m synthetic ice rink, a 300 square-metre snow garden, a 240-square metre cross country skiing area, a climbing wall, and a freestyle slide.
Apart from these, there will also be The Ice Queen ice rink show, roaming acts such as The Penguins and Pop the Balloon Man, a green screen experience company Full Frame Events, and much more.
There will also be an additional selection of children’s entertainment, such as carnival games, miniature rides, bouncy castles, etc.
All that, plus extreme rides, live stage shows, roaming performers, and an F1 Game Zone, which has proven to be very popular in the past.
“There will be something for everybody all weekend long at the Bahrain Grand Prix,” Shaikh Salman said.
“We invite everyone to come down to BIC, enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, see all the action on the track and basically have a great time. It will be an experience you will surely remember!”
