Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is building an energy efficient system for Diyar community which will saves up to 40% billing in water and electricity.
This was revealed by Diyar team during a briefing for the Ministry of Works delegation during the site visit of the project.
The principal elements of the upcoming sustainable villas include radiant cooling systems that use cold water, Air Handling Units to supply the required fresh air for inhabitants, Solar Domestic Hot Water Systems and Pressurized Water Systems to supply cold water to the cooling systems, thus saving up to 40% on energy and water consumption bills.
The delegation was shown a brief presentation on the benefits of Sustainable Systems, Development and Construction by BBK, a real estate development company focusing on innovative engineered development technologies to deliver smart, sustainable projects, in line with its anticipated partnership with Diyar Al Muharraq on the Habitat Low cost sustainable Residential Project.
The presentation was followed by a tour of Diyar Homes and Dragon City, during which the visiting delegation was accompanied by officials from Diyar Al Muharraq. During their visit to Dragon City, the representatives from the Ministry of Works were also taken to Dragon Mall and the Asian Dining Street.
The visit to Diyar Al Muharraq by the delegation from the Ministry of Works was in line with the Ministry’s efforts to keep themselves well informed about all the sustainable projects taking place within the significant urban development that is Diyar Al Muharraq.

Set in the southwest corner of Diyar Al Muharraq on an 115,000 square meter area, Dragon City is the first-of-its kind Chinese themed development in Bahrain which incorporates various significant features such as Dragon Mall and the Asian Dining Street. Dragon Mall will offer a variety of Chinese products such as home appliances, household items, building materials, furniture, toys, machinery, garments, textiles, footwear and general merchandise. The Asian Dining Street is an avenue that is enveloped with Oriental elements and the development is expected to draw in a multitude of visitors on a regular basis, which will include local consumers, trade customers and tourists.
Dragon City also includes Dragons Apartments, a residential complex comprising both 4 and 6 floors with a total of 300 apartments dedicated for use by Dragon City Employees. Dragon Apartments resides on a land area of 20,000 square meters within Dragon City close to Dragon Mall. Construction work on Dragon Apartments is well underway and is due for completion around the same time Dragon Mall is to be completed which will be by June 2015.
