MANAMA: Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh received Council of Representatives President Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla in the wake of the Government Action Plan (GAP) endorsement.
Al-Saleh stressed constructive cooperation between the Higher and Lower Houses as stipulated in the constitution and affirmed by the National Action Charter, which endorsed the bicameral system.
He hailed landmark legislative strides in the aftermath of the constitutional amendments and praised the endorsement of the four-year growth blueprint (2015-18), paying tribute to MPs for their fruitful efforts and constructive cooperation with the government. “The Shura Council will spare no effort to bolster cooperation with the Council of Representatives so as to push the democratic momentum further”, he said. Al-Mulla also commended constructive cooperation with the Shura Council and the Government, which would ensure further landmark achievements and enrich democratic practices.
