Riffa Palace: A united stance against extremist ideologies is underpinned by the collective commitment to protecting basic human principles and the peaceful characteristics shared by all religions, according to HRH Prince Salman Bin Hamad, Deputy King.
HRH added that upholding this commitment has a direct impact on the region’s efforts to ensure sustainable economic development for its people.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, was speaking as he met with the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency William Roebuck, and the Commander of the US Fifth Fleet, Vice Admiral John Miller, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness highlighted recent regional and international developments, and stressed that the fight against the emergence of extremist ideologies remains a top priority. He added that Bahrain’s recognition of this important priority underpins its continued support to the international coalition’s ongoing efforts to pursue lasting stability throughout the region, and further abroad.
His Royal Highness went on to praise the long-standing ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, emphasising the importance of strengthening all levels of cooperation in support of shared strategic priorities.
His Royal Highness continued by highlighting the many milestones reached in the fight against extremism, which has in turn ensured optimal coordination and collaboration amongst all allied nations.
Ambassador Roebuck and Admiral Miller welcomed Bahrain’s commitment to further bolstering coordination and cooperation with the United States, noting previous examples of successful collaboration between the two countries, as well other international partners.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Deputy King, also attended the meeting.
