Al Sakhir BIC: Light Up Your Nights with a Formula 1 is expected to be a record year during the 2nd flood-light Gulf Air Grand Prix 2015 at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
During a Press conference BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa revealed that ticket sales were reached all-time high compared to previous years’ levels with 58 days to go before the Bahrain Grand Prix 2015 kicks start.
“BIC’s 10,500-capacity Main Grandstand is almost half sold-out, providing a clear illustration of the growing excitement surrounding the highly anticipated desert night race,” sheikh Salman added.
The 2015 Formula 1™ Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix takes place April 17-18-19. It will be fourth of 20 rounds on this year’s FIA Formula 1™ World Championship.
Shaikh Salman, who was joined by Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer Maher Salman Al Musallam during a Press conference held at Paddock Six at the BIC premises in Sakhir, was upbeat on the success of this yearly and most important calendar sports event in Bahrain.
“We are delighted to announce that our ticket sales have reached an all-time high at this point in time before the Bahrain Grand Prix,” Shaikh Salman, added.
“Our early bird promotion, which ran for two months and offered up to 20% discount on certain tickets, ended this past week, and the response we received were tremendous.
“Interest in motorsport is growing in our part of the world, in particular for Formula 1™. The significant jump in our ticket sales compared to years past is a clear indication of how far we have come as a motorsport-loving nation.”
An exciting programme of world-class racing and entertainment waits at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” is making for what is set to be the Kingdom of Bahrain’s biggest and most exciting event of the year.
The Bahrain Grand Prix will be held over 57 laps. Scheduled for a 6pm start, it will take place under BIC’s brilliant floodlighting system, maintaining its status as the Middle East’s first and only full Formula 1™ night race.
