GUDAIBIA PALACE: His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that security and stability should be the focus of the Governmnet stressing that citizens should feel they are well protected, adding that development cannot be achieved without building a robust economy that prospers within a stable and secure environment.
HRH Prime Minister referring to good working relation between the executive and legislative branches of the Government and said all issues could be addressed thanks to the common stances and goals of the government and the Council of Representatives under the constitution that stipulates cooperation between the executive and legislative branches to address all matters.
HRH Premier He noted the regular meetings between the two branches send out positive signals and reflect a bright image of Bahrain’s democracy practices.
He underlined the government’s support for the Council of Representatives to carry out its legislative and supervisory roles, and hailed the efforts of the heads and members of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council in this regard.
HRH Premier was speaking as he received Council of Representatives Speaker, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Council of Shura Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, former Speaker, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani, and a number of MPs, in the presence of government’s senior officials, called for encouraging businessmen to expand their activities, affirming the economic role of the legislative branch in enacting legislations that aim at stimulating investors and promoting economic competiveness in all areas.
Referring to a number of domestic topics, mainly the fight against terrorism, HRH Premier expressed astonishment that some of those who call themselves advocates of rights and democracy are the first to deprive the others of their rights and do not accept the slightest principles of democracy.
“Whoever resorts to the use of Molotov cocktails is in fact promoting fallacies, leaving out official channels that can help him extend his reach to all,” HRH Premier said.
“This attitude simply denotes the malicious intentions of those who support and fuel terrorism by all means,” he added.
