MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain has emerged as a global leader eGovernment services, according to Sweden’s Former Prime Minister.
“In Sweden we have a very high penetration in internet usage but Bahrain has unparalleled advantage in eGovernment services in which Sweden will be keen to benefit from Bahrain’s expertise,” Sweden’s Former Prime Minister John Fredrik Reinfeldt on the sidelines of the opening of the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015 told The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).
Earlier, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology patronized the opening of the 8th edition of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015 at Isa Cultural Centre.
Shaikh Mohammed was joined by the Minister Transportation Kamal bin Ahmed and eGA CEO Mohammed Al Qaed during the honoring of the winners of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2015.
The official program of the forum’s first two days include keynote speeches delivered by Sweden’s Former Prime Minister John Fredrik Reinfeldt, Ambassador-Head of Delegation of the European Union to the GCC region Ambassador Adam Kułach, along with Amazon Web Services Head of World Wide Public Sector Teresa H. Carlson.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa will also patronize Bahrain IT Expo 2015 on Tuesday (March 17th) at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC); in conjunction with the launch of eight parallel workshops organized by the eGovernment Authority (eGA) with the effective participation of NGOs and international organizations. Workshop topics include Social Media – Business Innovation; Secrets of Business Innovation and Innovative Entrepreneurship; Big Data – Future and Challenges; Holistic Business Process Management: Improvement to Transformation; Building Defensible Critical Information Infrastructure; eGovernment Success Stories; PMI – Agile; Horizon 2020 Information Day; along with System Design & User Experience.
The Bahrain IT Expo 2015 will be open to the public at BIC Paddock Hall from 9AM-5PM. The eight workshops will be held in parallel for three consecutive days – up till 19th March 2015 – at the BIC Oasis Building from 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
This annual event is organized by eGA in collaboration this year with Bahrain Society of Engineers, Project Management Institute – Arabian Gulf Chapter and YouthTech Society.
It is expected that a broad participation of the public will attend – approximately 700 participants from both in and out of Bahrain.
