MANAMA: The Central Informatics Organisation (CIO) Data Security Directorate’s General Director, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, said the Organisation possesses the necessary capacity and capabilities to counter any cyber-attack, thanks to the advanced training of its employees on the usage of hi-tech security programmes.
He said the CIO pays considerable heed to the protection of security of data, citing the Organisation’s holding the First Forum on Data Security Protection recently.
And regarding communication with ministries regarding procedures which protect the security of data, he said we work within the frame of governance which makes it imperative for us to annually revise, audit and assess the accomplishments in order to reach the goal.
He said that services are available for citizens 24/7 to carry out their transactions anytime even during holidays, which necessitated the presence of an integrated team to deal with e-services around the clock.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa cautioned establishments, companies and individuals from purchasing cheap hack-able software for the purpose of saving because the consequences could be disastrous and costly.
