GUDAIBIA PALACE: The Cabinet on Monday reviewed the labour market’s indicators in quarter 4 of 2014. Figures revealed that the size of the work force in Bahrain increased by 3.1%, compared to the same period of 2013, with the number of Bahrainis reaching 156,000, making a 2.5% increase.
The figures indicate Bahraini economy’s ability to generate job opportunities for the citizens by proving the success of the government in creating jobs for the national job-seekers.
The indicators, presented by the Labour Minister, showed that 1.565 Bahrainis, or 38.5% of the total number of newly-recruited workers, entered the private sector in Q4 of 2014. The average salary of Bahrainis went up by 2.3% in the public sector, and 1.9% in the private sector in the same period, the session was also told.
