BIC, Sakhir: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) enjoyed a fantastic start to its Race Fever campaign over the weekend, attracting scores of fans at the various stops of a cross-island promotional tour.
A BIC team led by celebrities from Bahrain and across the Gulf took to the Kingdom’s streets in five Jaguar cars emblazoned in Bahrain Grand Prix to promote the upcoming Formula One extravaganza.
Taking to the wheel were comedian Badr Saleh from Saudi Arabia, popular social media figure @TheVeeView from Kuwait, Bahraini TV personalities Ameera Al Kooheji and Maryam Bukamal, the Kingdom’s popular radio DJ and comedian Imran Al Aradi, and renowned Bahraini baker Mahmood Janahi.
They kicked off the promotional tour at Al Basta Market located at Bahrain International Karting Circuit in Sakhir, and then made their way to Bahrain City Centre where they mingled with shoppers.
The BIC team then moved on to Motorox Café in Adliya before ending the day at The Lagoon at Amwaj Islands.
At each of the tour’s four destinations, BIC’s travelling party interacted and took pictures with members of the public. They also gave away flyers and souvenirs related to the big race.
The tour proved to be a hugely successful start to Race Fever, which is a three-week nation-wide celebration that aims to raise awareness and excitement ahead of the 2015 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Race Fever is set to include another three major events.
The next is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday (Editor’s note: April 2 and 3) at Amwaj Islands.
Highly regarded as the best freestyle motocross show in the world, the Red Bull X-Fighters Jams will be making a first-time appearance in Bahrain. They will be dazzling crowds with their breath-taking and awe-inspiring stunts two nights of thrills will also be taking place at Amwaj Islands.
Race Fever will then make a grand finale on April 11 at BIC. That evening, a fantastic raffle draw will be held for chance to win a brand new 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe.
Also on the same night, fans will be able to enjoy back-to-back live performances from British pop sensations The Vamps and talented Swedish DJ Otto Knows.
Fans who bought their tickets during the Early Bird Promotion period will have twice the chance to win in the raffle, per ticket. Those who bought their passes after the Early Bird and before April 11 have just one chance, per ticket.
The Vamps and Otto Knows will each be taking to the stage in separate performances and they will be bringing the curtains down on Race Fever in stellar fashion.
The Bahrain Grand Prix weekend is scheduled to take place April 17-18-19 in Sakhir as the fourth round of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship.
