MANAMA: Over 100,000 Pakistanis celebrated the National Day in a style with two flag hoisting ceremonies at the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Mission in Diplomatic Area and the Pakistan Club premises in Manama which were attended by a large number of community members, invited guests and Bahraini officials.
The flag hoisting ceremonies at the Pakistan Embassy was led by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Mohammad Saeed Khan and the Chairman Pakistan Club Mohammed Zahid Sheikh. There were also two separate receptions at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel of Pakistan embassy and the Club premises wherein guests were treated with traditional food, sweets and national songs. Pakistan Resolution Day is a culmination of the two-nation theory conceived by the Poet of the East, Dr Allama Mohammed Iqbal in 1940 which paved the way for a separate homeland for the millions of Muslims of the subcontinent in 1947.

Speaker hailed the solid relations bonding the two countries, and wished the Republic of Pakistan further progress and prosperity. Speaker also sent similar cables to Speaker of National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Mohammad Saeed Khan.
