Manama: Arab Financial Services (AFS), the leader in payment processing in the region, held a two day workshop on PCI DSS v. 3.0 implementation guidelines last week at AFS headquarters in Bahrain. The workshop was attended by over 20 participants from leading banks in the Middle East and Africa.
The workshop was designed to help build a culture of security and deliver relevant guidance to maintain safe computing practices. The program was divided into ten modules spread across two days, focusing on vital information related to cardholder security and organizational readiness for compliance with PCI DSS. The areas covered in the workshop included protection of cardholder data, password practices, social engineering, security for mobile devices and tablets, upgrades of software and anti-virus programs and physical security. The program was developed in partnership with SISA Information Security, a global leader in PCI DSS related services.
“All financial institutions need to address the issue of payment security education for their employees and this workshop was one of the first PCI DSS 3.0 workshop in Bahrain designed to do just that,” B Chandrasekhar, CEO, Arab Financial Services, said.
“Organizations need to make sure they are educating their employees across the business on security practices to safeguard their data. We thank all the banks for their participation and look forward to host more of such events in MENA region,” Chandrasekhar, added.
