BIC, Al Sakhir: World-renowned motor artist and sculptor, Dennis Hoyt, will showcase an exclusive exhibition of his latest automotive artwork at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) during the highly anticipated 2015 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, taking place April 17-18-19.
The exhibition has been named “Art of Speed.”
Hoyt is a long-time member of the respected Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS).
“I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s celebration for the Bahrain Grand Prix,” said Hoyt. “Bahrain International circuit is a stunning venue with beautiful architecture in an amazing location. Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsports and it is an honour to showcase my artwork during such a prestigious event.”
The Bahrain circuit is known as “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” and has been hosting a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship since 2004. This year’s race will be the second time that Bahrain has hosted a Formula One night race. The Bahrain Grand Prix is one of the most popular and well attended circuits of the 19-race schedule.
“To have Dennis here is very exciting for us,” BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman Bin Isa Al Khalifa, said.
“We are all aware of the incredible work that Dennis has been producing and we can’t wait for our spectators and guests to experience his work first hand. We are also extremely honoured to have Dennis exclusively unveil his new piece here in Bahrain.”
Hoyt will display nine sculptures in Bahrain including the stunning 2 meter long, ‘Psychedelic Porsche’ 917, ‘Seven’ a 2 meter long tribute to Michael Schumacher’s seven world championship crowns, his only glass work of art ‘The Grid’ and the beautiful Aston Martin ‘CC100.’
“The Bahrain Grand Prix will serve as the perfect backdrop to my exhibit,” added Hoyt. “I plan on displaying several of my more well-known pieces, as well as unveil a completely new piece.”
Dennis Hoyt has been sculpting since 1984 and has exhibited at most of the major motoring and motorsport events in the U.S. In 1988, he was the first artist to be unanimously elected to the Automotive Fine Arts Society. He was the inspiration and first recipient of the ‘Raymond E. Holland Award for Vision and Creativity’. His incredible works of art range in size with some pieces reaching over 3 meters in length.
