The Conference will bring in GCC leaders of the Energy Sector to identify the current leadership gaps in this field, and to collaborate efforts and to develop a new generation of leaders who are capable of running this highly specialized sector in our oil-rich countries. The Conference will highlight statistics of the manpower currently working in the Energy sector in the GCC and forecast the needs and jobs created for the future years. It will also review best practices and available training options in the GCC and discuss leadership issues and topics of interest such as innovation and performance.
More than 13 elite international, regional and local expert speakers are presenting their knowledge and experience in the fields of leadership and energy. We want to shed the light on the career opportunities that this sector avails to local youth, and the need for specialized trainings and developments plans.
The idea of this Conference was suggested during the 1st GCC Leadership Conference: “Secrets of Change Management” that was held in January 8-9, 2013. It was mentioned that existing leaders in the Energy sector must pass on their knowledge and expertise to the next generation who will lead this highly specialized industry. We must also focus on developing GCC youth to lead the energy sector themselves instead of importing foreign expertise.
It will be a two day Conference, the first day will consists of panel discussions from GCC companies working in the Oil and Gas and Energy sector. Panels will be moderated to talk about the existing workforce today in the Energy sector, who is the energy leader, review of existing training and development programs, present models of specialized energy training.
The Second day will be an intensive training Workshop of how to develop the next generation of leaders in a given industry. The Seminar will be presented by Ong Hong Him, a famous leadership guru from Singapore who specializes in future leadership.
