BIC, Al Sakhir: Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan has today paid a field visit to Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) accompanied by senior officers. He attended the final drill which was conducted by the Public Security Forces ahead of the 2015 Gulf Air Bahrain F1 Grand Prix, scheduled to be held this weekend from April 17 to 19th in Bahrain, the home of motorsport in the Middle East.
Major-General Al-Hassan was briefed on the deployment of patrols, the security checkpoints and the level of preparedness ahead of the global sporting event in Bahrain. In a statement on this occasion, he said that the plans which are being put in place would be enforced on the ground professionally, pointing out that the security forces had acquired knowhow and expertise over the past editions of the F1 championships,
He paid tribute to the wise leadership for the keenness on ensuring the success of the global sporting event, stressing in this regard the directives issued by Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa to take all pre-emptive and precautionary measures so as to maintain internal security across Bahrain.
“Police forces have completed all preparations and put in place emergency and alternative plans to ensure quick response to deal with any incident and bring the situation under control immediately”, he said, stressing the need to ensure the success of the race so as to reflect Bahrain’s standing and civilisation.
He announced that police would be deployed in force at the vicinity of the Bahrain International Circuit, entry and exit points and on main highways and avenues leading to the sport venue to ensure the smooth flow of the traffic and maintain security and public order.
