DUBAI: Aspiring students from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region have secured highest scores and top global ranks in the latest Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) examinations.
Chintan Gupta from Qatar ranked second globally for the M1 Masters Gateway examination, Devna Cheminiyan from United Arab Emirates (UAE) secured the third rank in the A1 Professional Gateway examination, and Navin Kumar from Oman ranked third globally in the G1 Management Accountant Gateway examination.
Chintan Gupta, Devna Cheminiyan and Navin Kumar also topped the list of successful CIMA aspirants in Qatar, UAE and Oman respectively. Additional students from the GCC who have performed exceptionally well include Husain Zainal from Bahrain, Matthew Atwood from Kuwait and Christian Ayade from Saudi Arabia.
“Our students have shown real talent and achievement in scoring the highest marks not only in their respective countries in the GCC region but as global rank holders in this professional exam. The CIMA qualification is designed to create top-class business experts and these students embody the CIMA ethos that dedication and hard work can produce exemplary results,” Geetu Ahuja, Head of GCC, CIMA, said.
The latest set of results marks the final examination sitting for the 2010 syllabus. From 2015, students will be assessed on the updated syllabus and will be able to take objective tests on demand. The new on-demand, computer-based assessment model reflects the wider use of technology in education and in the workplace and draws upon the new skills employers now require in business.
