Manama: The Association of Femmes Chefs d’Entereprises Mondiales (FCEM) has honored Khairya Dashti, Secretary General of the Arab Business Women’s Council and the General Coordinator of the 63rd Annual FCEM World Business Women’s Congress, which was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The FCEM Congress Awarded Ms. Dashti with the Outstanding Business Woman Award, making her the first Arab female national to receive the honour. The award recognized Ms. Dashti for her leadership in the Arab Business Women’s Council and the FCEM conference coordinator for this year’s event. The honour was bestowed upon Ms. Dashti at the event’s closing ceremony by FCEM President Ms. Laura Gucci, HH Sheikha Hissah Saad Al Sabah, Ambassador of the Arab region for FCEM and President of the Arab Business Women’s Council, as well as Sheikha Hind Bint Salman Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Business & Professional Women International Club.
“I would like to express my thanks to all of those that voted for and for their recognition of my work along with the higher organizing committee of the conference to make this event happen and to help present a strong and positive image about the role and work of Arab women to the world. I would like to extend a special thanks to HH Sheikha Hissah Al Sabah and Sheikha Hind Bint Salman Al Khalifa for their efforts in making this event a success and to Ms. Laura Gucci for her appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the enormous preparations for the conference and its accompanying programs,” Dashti said.
“Ms. Khairya Dashti has earned this honor for her outstanding contributions and leadership in the Arab Business Women’s Council. Her efforts within the Council and her unrivaled dedication have supported the upgrading of the Council and in the organisation having gained considerable recognition and traction globally,” HH Shekiha Hissah Saad Al Sabah added.
“This award has not only been given to Ms. Khairya Dashti as a result of her successful in the world of business but also because of her role as a pioneer in social and voluntary work as well as her support and work with the international, Arab and Gulf NGOs,” Shekiha Hind Bint Salman Al Khalifa said.
Ms. Dashti holds a number of position including: General Manager of “The Capital of Commerce and Industry”, Executive Director of “Gallery Lie – Arts House,” Secretary General of Arab Business Women’s Council of Arab from 1999, Secretary of the Bahrain Business & Professionals Women International Club and Secretary of the African Union of Arab Business Women. She is also a member of the Board of Management of the Gulf Union for Entrepreneurs in addition to being an economic adviser to the Kuwaiti Women’s Affairs Committee and a member of the Public Affairs Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bahrain.

The FCEM World Business Women’s Congress attracted the participation of more than 500 outstanding business women representing approximately 40 countries around the world including a group of the most prominent elite of international figures.
As a result of bilateral trade meetings between participants some 40 letters of intent accounting for US$150 million worth of business was signed between participants.
