Kuwait: Following the huge success of the first edition in 2013, the second edition of the SPE Kuwait Oil & Gas Show and Conference returns to Kuwait from 11–14 October 2015 at the Kuwait International Fair in Mishref. The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait. Organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Arabian Exhibition Management (AEM), the event will be themed ‘Future Hydrocarbon Resources; Innovations, Technology and Opportunities’ and will continue focusing on the keynote areas in the upstream and downstream interests in the region.
“I am pleased to announce the Kuwait Ministry of Oil’s support for the second edition of the SPE Kuwait Oil & Gas Show and Conference (KOGS 2015). The stature of this major international oil and gas exhibition and conference befits Kuwait’s international standing as one of the world’s leading oil producing nations, and mirrors the great strides we have made both upstream, downstream, and in our overseas activities,” Dr. Ali Saleh Al Omair, Minister of Oil and Minister of State for the National Assembly, said.
After a successful result in abstracts submission, 261 papers have been selected to be presented during 27 sessions. The SPE Kuwait Oil & Gas Show and Conference is expected to attract more than 3,500 regional and international attendees through its extensive multi-disciplinary programme, which will focus on science and engineering factors facing those working in Kuwait and the Divided Neutral Zone (shared with Saudi Arabia).
The 14,000 square metre event also incorporates a world-class exhibition. Hosting the most reputed organisations in the oil and gas industry, this global showcase will serve all areas of the oil and gas industry; including petroleum geosciences, exploration and production (E&P), and refining & petrochemical products and services.
“We are proud to lend official support to the second SPE Kuwait Oil & Gas Show and Conference. As we continue to expand in all areas of our industry, KOGS 2015 assembles a welcome level of expertise and serves as a timely arena for meaningful discourse and engagement,” Nizar M. Al-Adsani, Deputy Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), said.
“I am confident that the exchange of knowledge, technology and business prospects at this event will be of great benefit to all participants whilst contributing to the advancement of our industry,” he said.
