HRH was speaking during a meeting with a number of Ministers and officials from government service departments which participated in the programme overseen by HRH Premier’s Office to improve government services through developing the methods of delivering them.
“Developing the government work system and enhancing its quality constantly are a priority in the government work strategy within a modern vision that takes the citizens’ needs into account and contributes to providing easy quality services,” HRH said.
HRH Premier was briefed about a report documenting the best practices achieved by ministries and government departments, according to UN standards, and by national competencies.
He also directed them to promote the culture of development in their bodies, and periodically evaluate their methods and operations scientifically to increase productivity.
HRH Premier urged to invest more in human resources, and mobilise all potentials to increase productivity and develop services in ministries and government departments through optimum exploitation of the available resources.
“The citizens should be convinced that they are always entitled to receive the best government services through the existing state bodies,” he emphasised.
HRH the Prime Minister stressed the need to spread successful concepts and practices among government bodies to motivate other departments to implement the same approach, thanking all ministries and state departments which developed their performance and improved their services according to methods based on scientific, academic and professional foundations.
He stressed that constant follow-up and assessment of all implemented projects are essential to ensure that government work achieves its goals and reaches maximum levels of quality and efficiency, which will make them appeal to the citizens, and contribute to providing high-quality government services.
HRH Premier commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the government’s studies and evaluation team to document the best practices in the public sector that had come under praise by the United Nations, which, he said, proves the government’s success in implementing advanced services, development programmes and projects.
He urged continuation of efforts to strengthen the capacities of government bodies, develop their work systems, simplify their procedures and develop their human resources to ensure they contribute more effectively to comprehensive development.
The report submitted to HRH Premier by the government team, documenting the best practices of the public sector according to the UN standards, included the most successful 31 government projects in 2014.
Members of the government’s studies and evaluation team extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his constant support to them.
They affirmed that the successes attained in various government projects and sectors were the fruitful outcome of HRH Premier’s close and personal follow-up on their implementation process, and directives to address any obstacles that delay their completion according to schedule.
They pointed out that the Premier’s personal follow-up is in line with his constant keenness on serving the citizens and providing them with the requirements of decent living.
