Manama: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announced plans to publish a Who’s Who Book on Bahraini women in the financial and banking sector.
The publication features an extensive history as well as illustrated photographs of the many talented Bahraini women who, over the past 50 years, have helped make and keep Bahrain a leading regional financial center. In an effort to ensure the book is comprehensive, the CBB invites all individuals and institutions in Bahrain to send biographies, success stories, high resolution photographs with captions and any other relevant information on Bahraini women in the financial and banking industry to wifb@finmarkcoms.com by the end of August 2015.
“This book will be a unique archive of the role of women in the development and growth of Bahrain’s financial services sector. We are delighted to announce this initiative and look forward to working with all industry players – past and present – to collect and share important information, stories and memorabilia. The book will not only mark the outstanding contributions of women over the past few decades but will also serve as a reference and inspiration for the young generation of women planning careers in banking and finance,” Dr. Huda H. Al Maskati, Executive Director – Corporate Services at the CBB, said.
The Who’s Who project is being developed as part of Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations for the year 2015 under the theme “Women in the Financial and Banking Sector”. This year-long campaign of events, being held under the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW also includes a series of panel discussions and town hall meetings and will culminate in the Women in the Financial and Banking Sector Conference to be held on 30 November 2015.
All events and activities seek to bring together industry leaders and decision makers and provide role models, guidance and inspiration to the next generation of females who are currently climbing the corporate ladder and aspiring to positions of authority with the industry.
