MANAMA: His Excellency Minister of Interior Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa led the police funeral held in the Police Fort for the martyrs of duty Naweed Ahmed Nazar and Hamid Rasool Arif. The two had died on in the Sitra terrorist blast on July 28. The Pakistani Ambassador and the martyrs’ families attended the event.
The funeral started with the recitations from the Holy Quran and then the coffins of the two martyrs were brought in, accompanied by the funeral guards.
“We thank God for our destiny to take responsibility of this nation’s security and dealing with terrorist incidents is our duty,” HE the Interior Minister in his remarks said.
“Today we stand with reverence and awe for the souls of the martyrs of duty, remembering with loyalty and appreciation those who joined martyrdom and immortality, as the blood they have shed will remain as a guiding example for generations and a bright page in the nation’s history. Today we bid farewell to two of our policemen who took the road of martyrdom and responded to the call of duty.”
“We vow to continue with the same approach and sacrifices. Those who committed the unrighteous crime with full intent will face legal punishment and they and those like them deserve death penalty which should be a lesson for those who intend to carry out such criminal acts.”
“I offer my sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and pray for their souls to rest in peace and speedy recovery for the wounded. We vow to God to remain loyal to this nation and sacrifice our lives under the leadership of His Majesty the King.”
“At the end of the funeral, HE the Interior Minister handed the flag of the Ministry of Interior to the families of the martyrs and then a prayer was recited for their souls to rest in peace. After that, HE the Interior Minister led the funeral prayer on the martyrs’ bodies at the Fort mosque.”
He offered sincere condolences to the wise leadership and loyal Bahrainis for the death of the two policemen who sacrificed their lives for the nation and its security and stability, thanking all who extended condolences on the death of the martyr of duty inside Bahrain, citizens and residents, or outside the country of brotherly and friendly countries and world organisations.
